Jasmine Cain....on the proverbial path to stardom
If you have not had the opportunity to catch this very sexy most talented young lady's intoxicating voice, move on it now.
Jasmine brings to the stage a remarkable gift few are blessed with. Although she is small in stature her voice can echo the halls where she's performing and beyond as if coming directly from the great heavens. When I first heard the pure sound coming from the stage a few years back, I stopped everything I was doing to explore who and where that music was coming from. Everyone who was present at the venue we were enjoying in Sturgis, did the same. With hair flowing in the Sturgis wind sat this gorgeous young lady dwarfed by her guitar casually perched on a rickety old stool belting out Joplin's "Bobby McGee" unplugged to a few 100 folks.Jasmine had a thousand seasoned bikers at complete attention. There was not a word being spoken. Everyone wanted to enjoy the magic of that moment and indeed that continued for the next hour. She giggles and goofs off between tunes providing insight to the dues paid, and roads traveled that bikers understand and respect more than any other group of folk on this planet. Jasmine is the real deal. What is also very cool about her is her down home roots that provided hard work ethics and ego management.
She grew up reared on a ranch outside of Sturgis, South Dakota. Her education was
private. Well, kind of anyway, she was schooled in a one room school house with 20 kids of all a ges sharing a curriculum. Her bus ride was her horse. Yes, she road a horse to school each day. Her experience and respect for horses became obvious to Debby & I when she requested we take some shots around horses. There is indeed a bond similar to the one she has for music with these spectacular animals. Life on the ranch and hard winters doing chores taught Jasmine the spirit of life, not yet 30 she is mature beyond her years. At age 4 she picked up Daddy's guitar and strummed out a few cords. The old man then taught her a few more and that would end the entire educational process of her musical career. Jasmine has neverhad a voice lesson or formal education with a guitar. She defines the success of hard work and self taught. Conservative values of running a ranch by parents did not include encouragement from Mom & Dad to pursue the passion she had for music, what did, was competition she had with her brother for time on Dad's guitar. The results are a magnificent, wholesome, flawless, hi-energy sound that we will all listen to on the radio soon. She has endured, like you & I all that dues paying bullshit life tosses at you. People telling us we can't do this or that, bad relationships, and years of dragging a guitar around with several bands are now aying dividends.
The "Jasmine Cain Band" has evolved in 2008 into one damn fun night of dancing and
groovin' to rock & roll music, an occasional Cain ballot, some Joplin and much more excellent music comes at you. Jasmine writes the songs and produces the albums with her bands input.
The Jasmine Cain band members are: head guitarist Jeff Coughran, key board David Michael Thomas, and on the drums, Joe Yager.
The most invigorating best news of all, the Jasmine Cane Band has a new CD. 10 songs that make up power..hard rock, ballots, southern rock with a country style. The name of the CD is "Lock & Keys". Sure enough, go to Jasminecain.com or catch Jasmine and the band on John Green's Easyriders Show Tour".
This woman was damn well born to sing. Jasmine will entertain you and leave ya asking for more. So jump on it and support one of our own. Buy her cd at Jasminecain.com.
Ride hard & fast,
Michael Farabaugh
